Grief affects your mental health, and in turn, your mental health can heighten your grief. This can be a difficult place to be in life. Please be careful because you can very easily fall into a loop of repeating habits and cycles of negative thoughts. I’m happy you are here because that means you are actively looking for ways to improve your life. So take a second and be proud of taking action and seeking help.
I’ve tried many times to keep a journal and for some reason, I couldn’t stick with it. I was lacking guidance and structure, which is important when you are in recovery and trying to heal. Of course, journals and their purposes are different for everyone. I wanted to take some time to share a journal I found that has been working beautifully for me.

The Win Journal
The Win Journal is designed for keeping track of your win(s) each day no matter how big or small they are. Healing requires action and this journal helps you take action each day.
- Empowers the ability to complete day-to-day activities
Writing down a small win allows me to feel like I accomplished something that day. No matter how big or small the win is, I know I achieved something! Now, what an empowering feeling that is. With time you will be able to identify more wins each day, which will help you achieve your day-to-day activities will more ease.
- Creates an opportunity for self-reflection
Self-reflection is an important part of becoming more internally aware of yourself, which can benefit your overall well-being and healing journey. At the end of each day, week, and month, The Win Journal creates an opportunity for you to reflect upon that time. You’ll be able to identify what your wins have been and inspire you to focus on other types of wins for the upcoming journal entries.
- Helps to manage stress, symptoms, and complicated feelings
Working on becoming self-aware and identifying your day-to-day wins creates the opportunity to explore your emotions. When you open yourself up to exploring grief and complicated feelings, you learn how to manage how you are feeling, both good and bad. This can help you take a better look at what your emotions and feelings are trying to tell you. This can help shift a negative mindset to a more positive one, providing a more enhanced sense of well-being.
- Improvement in sleep
Before I found The Win Journal I was having a difficult time sleeping throughout the night because I was worrying. I kept thinking that my grief didn’t allow me to do anything that day. I would then worry about how much extra I had to do for the next day. Once I started listing my daily win(s), I came to realize that I had achieved something that day. I realized I should be proud of the small wins because, at the end of the day, those small wins all add up. Writing in The Win Journal before bed as become a great end-of-day ritual and puts my mind at ease as I wind down for the night.
So if you are looking to take a step towards healing, The Win Journal can help you do this! I encourage you to join myself and others in The Win Journal – Share & Celebrate Your Wins community support group to connect with others.
